The purpose of The Open Nest is to encourage and enhance the knowledge of ALL women of color who have been affected by mental illness no matter what transition, stage or phase of life they are in. We are here to offer a safe and prayerful environment for people to share their feelings, problems, and needs.

The Open Nest will strive to make lives more fruitful and productive by assisting women with managing their lives through treatment, recovery, finding the emotional support they need, and making full use of all the resources and services available to them as well as making them an asset to the community by giving back.

The Open Nest’s goal is to foster a commitment to ALL women of color who have mental illness or their loved ones who have been affected by mental illness in some other way that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.

Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give women of color affected by mental illness the commitment to follow through on the path to recovery and healing with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Here at The Open Nest you invited to share your stories and struggles, to give and receive comfort and encouragement and to open yourself to the presence and peace of The Most Highly Infinite Redeemer over all the earth, eternal, immortal, invisible, lifter, Vine, Light, Life, only wise and true, keeper, liberating creator.
